Magnelab’s RCT-3600 is a 333 mV Output Rogowski Coil that measures AC current up to 5,000 Amps. It has a 12-inch diameter.
This 333 mV Output Rogowski Coil is a flexible rope-like current sensor that can be used in place of a traditional current transformer. Because it does not have a magnetic core it is lightweight and flexible, making installation significantly easier.
The RCT-3600 opens at the connector junction and can be installed on an existing cable or busbar in a matter of seconds. It comes with one Rope CT and the corresponding integrator, which amplifies the low output of the Rope CT and corrects the phase shift. This allows it to be used anywhere a low voltage current sensor would be used.
If instead you would like a Rogowski coil without an integrator (which will output 70 mV per 1000A), see the RCT-3600-000. You may also be interested in the new RCT-100T, RCT-150T, RCT-350T, RCT-600T and RCT-900T series Rogowski coils. These “tear drop” Rope CTs allow for use in smaller, tighter situations. They are available with or without an integrator.
The RCT-3600 333 mV Output Rogowski Coil can measure as low as 25A and as high as 5000A with 1% accuracy. The RCT-3600 has these advantages in comparison to a traditional CT:
- Greater linearity
- High amperage measurement capability
- Extremely flexible
- Large circumferences available
- No shorting block required
- Energy sub-meters
- Power meters
- Power quality monitoring
- Condition monitoring
- Distributed measurement systems
Compatible power meters accept a voltage input. Look for meters on our website that start with this symbol:
The RCT-3600 series Rogowski coil can be ordered WITHOUT the integrator when being used with Measurlogic, Veris and eGauge power meters. Note: The integrator requires a power supply of 12 to 30V AC or DC, which is not included. You may purchase one here.
